Hi, my name is David Fleming. I am a high level Z Health trainer (functional neurology), an upper & lower extremity certified Trigenist (functional neurology) & a level 4 Anatomy In Motion practitioner (functional biomechanics). I have written for Health & Fitness magazine & am a leading contributor to MoreAthelticmagazine.co.uk
I have been in the health & fitness industry for 12 years working mainly with the general public as an 'end of the road' trainer/therapist. My clients present with often strange & unsolved acute & chronic pain conditions. My training, research & experience affords me the opportunity to return them to a pain free life in record time. I am also fortunate enough to work with a few athletes seeking performance enhancement through movement & sports vision training.
What I intend to teach you is my own methodological approach to the application of the concepts & techniques taught to me by Dr Eric Cobb of Z Health.
In this seminar you will learn the basis of the neurological concepts that govern the function of our nervous system, as well as several assessments & techniques that can instantly improve strength, range of motion, movement fluidity & reduce pain.
Day one:
Threat neuromatrix theory of the nervous system - Understanding our survival wiring & how to utilise it for improved function & performance.
How the brain maps the body - A well established & proven theory of neuroscience, how affecting brain maps simply makes us better at everything we do.
Orthopaedic muscle testing - Isolated muscle strength testing gives us a window into the moment to moment state of the nervous system. Learn how to test nearly every muscle in the body. Upper & lower extremity & torso.
Basics of joint mobility - Stretch if you want to get better at stretching but practice mobility if you want healthy joints & improved flexibility reflexively.
Day two:
Neuromechanics & motor points - Assess sensation & motor function of the major peripheral nerves of the body. Nerve mobilisation techniques have an almost magical impact on muscle recruitment, pain, function & performance. An invaluable tool with multiple applications.
There are some muscles that we cannot innervate via peripheral nerve techniques. With practice, motor point therapy gives us direct access to nerve motor branches of those muscles. An extremely interesting & useful technique.
Biofeedback assessment - Everything you do with a client or in your own training should be assessed as to whether it will make the body better or worse. Learn how to ask questions of your nervous system & how truly to listen to your body.
Biofeedback training - Apply your new client & self assessment skills to strength training programs. Remove all guess work & allow the nervous system to guide your exercise selection, rest periods & more.
Basics of visual acuity skills for trainers - An introduction to the extra ocular muscles of the eyes. Learn how to retrain & utilise some basic visual acuity skills that are hugely impact full over the entire body.

& so much more!
Whether you specialise in rehabilitation or just want to make people move better, these concepts, techniques & the methodology of their application will transform your insight in to how the body functions & the results you will achieve with your clients.
